Modern Philippines Rising: Building New Clark City - The Finest, Sustainable, Smart City In The World

Since President Duterte has become the President of Philippines, projects of an astonishing nature are being built across the Philippines.

Almost no other country (except China) has built or is building so much infrastructure in the last 2-3 decades.

In Philippines, all these projects combined are termed as the "Golden Age of Infrastructure" under the "Build Build Build" Program of President Duterte where more than USD 200bn are going to be spent over the next 2 decades.

Latest mega project is one of the first large scale new cities being built on a large empty land, about 80 kms north of Metro Manila in “New Clark City” envisioned as the newest economic hub of Asia.

This project is valued at USD 14bn plus, is spread over 95 square km and targets to create spacious living and work areas for a population of more than 2 million and to serve as a satellite city to Metro Manila area.

It will be become the food hub for the Philippines (like in Paris) as well as an economic hub of Asia. It will be planned like BGC, Manila but even better with more new technologies and will also be "pollution free" and will have "driverless cars" in due course.

The President himself has said that within 25 years, Metro Manila area needs to be redeveloped because it is beyond saturation point and Manila could be a “dead city”.

The videos on the site of New Clark City website are simply mind blowing and explain how the entire project is being designed, planned and built:

International media has also reported on it.

"The plan is New Clark, a 9,450-hectare (23,350-acre) city that government officials say will be bigger than Manhattan by the time it is completed in 25 to 30 years, with an expected population of more than 1.2 million."

You have to see this video to see the scale of what is being built.

It is not just a dream or a paper project, projects have been tendered and work has already begun.

One Dept of Transportation has already shifted from Ortigas City (Metro Manila) to New Clark City last year and a law is currently being passed to transfer 22 more Central Govt offices and 27 offices of Govt owned and Controlled Corporations out of Manila to New Clark City. This law is supported by everyone and should be passed in the next couple of months.

1.   Railway Project
2.   Govt Administrative Center
3.   Clark Intl Airport
4.   Clark Airport Project Operations and Maintenance

Target completion date of New Clark City International Airport is 2020.

The rail project is under tender and construction to connect New Clark City with Manila and shorten the time from current 2 hours to about 55 minutes.

In order to create thousands of jobs OUTSIDE of Manila, in the thousands of islands of Philippines, major projects are now being assigned to smaller towns and islands in order to reduce pollution, congestion and with an aim to create job opportunities closer to homes of the job seekers and graduates.

This IT Park project was approved by President Duterte just today, 8 July 2018, which is north of Manila and not too far from Clark City, as just one more example.

The 2019 Southeast Asian Games will also be held at  New Clark City for which world class stadium and facilities are being built.
